Worship at St. Mark's
Regular worship services are held every Sunday morning, at 8:15 and 10:30a.m. Holy Communion is celebrated weekly at the 8:15 service, and on the first and third Sundays of each month at the 10:30 service. Liturgy from both the Lutheran Book of Worship and With One Voice hymnals are used regularly. Lay members are integrally involved in the worship service, through lector, cantor, and communion assistant roles.
Music Opportunities
Chancel Choir
The chancel (adult) choir leads the congregation at each regular worship service. They rehearse weekly (except summer months) and usually offer a special anthem each Sunday. The repertoire consists of a variety of music, and sight-reading is not necessary.
Handbell Choir
The handbell choir is open to all ages. (The director may alter this approach, depending upon the number of people interested and the type of music planned.) This group plays at worship services several times during the year, depending upon the season.
Youth Choir
Open to ages 3rd - 8th grade, the youth choir rehearses every week and sings once a month during the school year. Fellowship activities are incorporated into the music program.
Cherub Choir
Open to ages 3 years - 2nd grade, the cherub choir rehearses every week and sings once a month during the school year. Fellowship activities are incorporated into the music program.
Individual Instrumentalists
The music director welcomes instrumentalists to utilize their talents in special music opportunities, such as preludes, offertories, hymn and choir accompaniment, solos, Sunday School gatherings, etc. See Faith Baker if interested. |
