Senior High Youth

Opportunities for Senior High youth at St. Mark's include, but are not limited to:

Worship - Many opportunities exist for youth to serve in all ways during either of our two Sunday morning worship services. They range from sharing a talent with voice or a musical instrument, serving as crucifer, reading the lessons, to assisting with communion. Come to serve and worship our Lord!

Sunday School  - our class is located in the Peace room inside the Family Life Center and meets every Sunday morning for an hour beginning at 9:20 am. Their teachers, Josh and Susan Tucker currently use resources that approach hot topics for youth today and what the Bible teaches us about these topics.

Sr. High Youth Group - activities include a National Youth Gathering every 3 years sponsored by our Synod.  The 2009 gathering will be held in New Orleans, LA with the theme "Jesus, Justice and Jazz." We will begin meeting to plan our journey, begin fundraising and intentional choosing of counselors.

A monthly schedule is sent out to the youth which announces the activities for that month; their location, dates and times.  They include but are not limited to:  prayer breakfasts, various mission and service projects, visiting and interacting with our shut-ins and/or members in nursing homes, lock-ins, providing snack bags for the Corner Table, bowling, snow ski trips, going to Christian band concerts, going to the movies, basketball pick-up games/open gym, crafts, scrapbooking, “Acquire the Fire” events, beach or mountain retreats, and just "hanging out" with each other.

You are always welcome to be a part of this ministry for sr. high youth.  If you have questions, would like to volunteer, want to receive the monthly activity schedule for sr. high youth, or just want/need more information, please contact our director of Youth and Family Ministry, Susan Tucker at 828-459-2161, x 20.
